An estranged husband shot another man, then turned the gun on himself in an attempted murder-suicide Friday at a home in northeast Colorado Springs, police said.

Police Lt. Howard Black said the wife of the gunman was home at the time of the shootings, but was not harmed. The wounded man, who was shot in the torso, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

Black said the woman and the two men knew each other, but he declined to comment on their relationship.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. in the 6000 block of Fossil Drive near Powers Boulevard and Woodmen Road.

According to El Paso County assessor’s records, the owners of the home were Brian and Denise Daniels. Police have not released any names, but a neighbor said the couple who lived in the home were named Daniels and that they were getting divorced.
